Started by N.Ganapadiya Pillai in 1950 under the name "Aruna Appalam" and formally registered by the government in 1958, the business journey expanded throughout Tamil Nadu. After that Mr. G. Thirumurugan s/o N. Ganapathy Pillai, rebranded and refined it as "Madurai Pandian Appalam" and started its business journey with a new luster. Exports starting from Malaysia, Singapore, Kenya, Maldives, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, London, Qatar, Oman. Then it expanded beyond Tamil Nadu to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Andaman.
